What Happened To Jean Leroy Hart Of 'Keeper of the Ashes'?

Jean Leroy Hart, the main suspect in the Oklahoma Girl Scout Murders, now known as "Keeper of the Ashes," was put on trial for the murder charges.

He was arrested within a year of the murders as he was still at large since 1973 after escaping from the Mayes County Jail. Jean was jailed for kidnapping and raping two pregnant women, as well as four counts of first-degree burglary.

After Jean's arrest, he was tried in March 1979 for the summer camp rape and murders of three young girls. The victims were eight-year-old Lori Lee Farmer, ten-year-old Doris Denise Milner, and a nine-year-old Michele Heather Guse.

This is a story I wish I never had to tell, but it needs to be told.
